چکیده

Modular Building Systems (MBS) are still in the phase of developing its popularity industry, with emerging novel designs. Initially, MBS walls and floors had been highly influenced by Light-gauge Steel Frame (LSF) designs made Cold-Formed (CF) steel studs, either as loadbearing or non-loadbearing types which have extensively researched all over world. However, recently practice industry tends to incorporate Square Hollow Section (SHS) columns for their improved structural performance convenience at manufacturing stage despite limited research knowledge terms Fire Resistance Level (FRL). Moreover, catastrophic failures fatal accidents common steel-based structures case a fire. Hence, fire modular SHS identified critical gap. Firstly, Finite Element Models (FEM) were developed original wall, Light-weight Timber (LTF) wall some LSF walls. The FEM analyses results very well matched full-scale experimental so that techniques confidently used study effect variables chosen based on material availability options, cost reduction construction practice. Structural Insulation FRLs evaluated parametric walls, where produced graphs insulation can be referred determine adequate thickness column sheathing Ratio (IR) respectively. choice stud type against other limitations related energy,

Comparative Study of Anchored Wall Performance with Two Facing Designs

The present study compared the performance of soldier pile and concrete bearing pad anchored wall facings. Using Abaqus finite element software, two case studies have been precisely represented for the facing designs and effects of the parameters of soil type, spacing of anchors and facings, surcharge and facing sizes were investigated. The analysis results indicate that the soldier pile method...

Optimal Designs of Multiple Dividing Wall Columns

Since the optimal design of dividing wall columns (DWC) is a highly nonlinear and multivariable problem, an appropriate solving tool is required. In this paper a multi-objective genetic algorithm with restrictions is considered to design columns with dividing walls. Also, a methodology is proposed for sizing the DWC. The proposed design methodology allows achieving appropriate designs for colum...

Experimental Study on the Fire Performance of Tubular Steel Columns with Membrane Protections for Prefabricated and Modular Steel Construction

Experimental research was conducted to study the fire resistance of steel tubular columns used in prefabricated and modular construction. In order to achieve high-efficient prefabrication and fast on-site installation, membrane protections using board products and thermal insulation blankets are adopted as the favorable protection method. Three protected tubular columns were tested in a full-sc...

Three-component Distillation Columns Sequencing: Including Configurations with Divided-wall Columns

In the present work, the exergy analysis and economic study of 3 different samples of threecomponent mixtures have been investigated (ESI>1, ESI≈1, and ESI<1). The feed mixture has been tested under three different compositions (low, equal, and high contents of the intermediate component). A quantitative comparison between simple and complex configurations, considering thermally coupled, thermo...

The Fire Resistance Performance of Recycled Aggregate Concrete Columns with Different Concrete Compressive Strengths

In order to ascertain the fire resistance performance of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) components with different concrete compressive strengths, four full-scaled concrete columns were designed and tested under high temperature. Two of the four specimens were constructed by normal concrete with compressive strength ratings of C20 and C30, respectively, while the others were made from recycle...
